Foat and prawn session - West arm

Typical East arm bass
The original plan had been to go and play on the low water surf, as the forecast had given a stiff southerley wind. The reality on waking with the alarm was that we had a light Easterly. I decided to go prawning, and havew a look at the West arm for some fish. Pranws secured, I got to the West about two hours before the top of the tide. Bites straight away, but I struggled to connect. I bumped a couple off, and suspected they were very small schoolies, smashing my scarce big prawn baits. Over the top of the tide it went a bit quiet, but just as myt business partner and friend Barry arrived, I bagged my first one.

Barry gets in on the fun
Didnt take him long to get into the action either, as he knocked out two in quick succession. He then went along to the float bays on a mackerel mission, succesfully achieved. Meanwhile, the bites began to come on again, and still I missed plenty. I did manage to hang on to another five though!

Biggest of the day - 2lb 1oz
Barry came back down the arm, and began float and prawning again, but without any success. He said his goodbyes, and after another ten minutes, with very little water left, I too retired.
