A nice surf at Southwick
With all my gear soaking wet from the previous nights session, I needed to get out and air it all, with some fishing in the dry. We still had a strong wind, which would help, and as luck would have it my mate Steve popped around, with a desire to catch fishes. But we both agreed the main criteria was to stay dry. We popped down to Southwick, as despite being a small tide, the surf looked very fishy. A rummage for some slipper limpets produced our bait, and we gave it a go.

Schoolie hungry for slippers
We got about an hours fishing, before the next squally shower sent us racing for the car. Just one take, to me, and a small shcoolie as a result.

Blenny's alkso like slippers
Later that evening, I gave Steve a call to see if he fancied popping out again, which of course he did. With so much shellfish around I wanted to try one of my favourite ebb marks. Once again, only about an hours fishing, for just one blenny. But both Steve and myself missed good contacts which left us wondering about bigger fish, especially as this mark is whiting free.
