More poor fishing.......

Barry and Corkwing wrasse

Very pretty Corkwing for Barry

Something not quite adding up this year. The prawns were a little late on the reef, but they are there now in good numbers. Plus plenty of velvets jumping out of their shells. But for some reason the inshore pegs on the East arm are just not living up to their past performances when it comes to bassing on the float and prawn. And so it was to be today, as a single corkwing wrasse was the best catch between Barry and I, despite a very focused session. Just no fish!!!

More rough stuff 25th p.m.

Eels a plenty

Plenty of these chaps on this tide!!

Met up with Matt, and we headed down to the rough, a bucket with plenty of velvet peelers in it, and no scheduled fireworks, so I was quite confident of some action. And we got plenty of action. Lots and lots of it. Well, Matt did. To conserve bait I was fishing mackerel, and the eels left me alone. Matt ended up with seven, and had he been using a size 4 instead of a 4/0, the tally would have been over twenty. Not a sniff of a bass for either of us though.......!!
