Gillian and Lobster - A very cute couple....!!
Time for the Fishyrob lobster tour, as big tides mean the better lobster pools get exposed. A dawn start for my very good friend Le Roux, his very pretty girlfriend Gillian, and their slightly less pretty friend Leon, and out to the bracing reality of an East sussex morning on the reef. Very succesful, with seven lobsters caught, but only three of them meeting the legal requirement of 87mm from rear of eye socket to edge of carpace. Also, should you wish to go lobstering, please be aware that there is a byelaw which restricts unlicenced lobster fisherman (the likes of you and I) to a maximum of two lobsters per person per day. This is excellent legislation designed to ensure good availability of lobsters for both commercials and self sufficency enthusiasts alike.

88mm, 88mm and 90mm. Lovely jubbly...!!
Something very weird with these night tides. The fish just arent to be found where you would expect them. So where are they? Rammed up the rivers? I need to find out PDQ as yet another client session ended without result. James had won my services in a charity auction in aid of the RNLI, and I was suitably flattered that we really pushed hard with the session, fishing until daybreak. But it wasnt to be. Once again, it was a very good nights fishing, in that James was suitably fired up and keen, and excellent company. In fact, excellent company seems to be a by-product of thi job that I really hadnt expected. Being very familiar with service industries, if the service fails to deliver, moaning is the order of the game. In this gig, I still get thankyou's, and often reports later on of good catches by the techniques learned during the sessions. Did I mention I love my job??
