21st October - Bassing with Greg and Mark

Mark opens the evening account

Mark opens the evening account

With very similar weather conditions, minus the rain, to the previous evenings session with Alan, it made sense to go and have another look at the inshore of the marina. Fishing fresh out black lug back up the beach, Greg and Mark got action from the beginning, with Mark catching the very first fish, a schoolie of about a pound. Bites wee quite forthcoming, and it was excellent practice for the guys for the techniques of touch ledgering.

As is often the way fishing with the fresh out lug, the average stamp of fish was small, in the 1lb region. But that isnt to say it isnt a bait for the bigger fish as well. They just need a chance to get on the worm. Eventually, it came good with this fat fishy, which I recall weighed up at 4lb!! The total tally for the night was eleven bass landed between the guys, so a lively session to keep the interest. I had a whole squid out for the duration, and had just one good bang, missed....!!
