More studying of squid......

21st April

Dave feathers Bass

Dave and a tiny bass on Sabiki's

More prosepcting for squid, and getting excited about the squid comp on Sunday. Popped out on the West arm extension, but the squidding wasnt easy. In fact, we didnt find any out there today. Dave popped out, and worked the Sabiki's to assist in the quest for locating launce, but it was only a tiny schoolie that responded.

More squid action

Another fine tentacled one. Good squid as well.......

The tide dropped away, and we headed over to the East arm for the last of the ebb and the first of the flood. Starting out on the higher numbers, at least we got to see a squid caught, to the lucky chappie pictured above.

22nd April

Bruno and his first squid

Brno and his first ever Brighton squid!

Back again the next day, and as it was getting dark, Steve and myself found ourselves inshore on the East arm. Forum friend and Kayak angling nutter Bruno popped down, with a spinning rod, some jigs, and some leads. Choosing to ignore the float technique that is the common practice, he worked his jig over the rough ground and was rewarded within ten minutes with his first ever squid!

Bruno's PB Squid....

Bruno's PB squid

Not content with making us look incompetent once, twenty minutes later he did it again, with the cracking looking squid pictured above. This technique most certainly needs some investigation. Once the squid thicken up, perhaps this could be the one to take the All England Squid Championships winners trophy?
