Ian with the first fish of the day
With the holiday period now over, and early morning tides in the lazy town that is Brighton, I felt able to take Ian on tho the West arm for an induction to sea fishing. The main reason was because there was a bit too much East in the wind to make the East arm comfortable, wheras despite an awkward breeze making float control often difficult, the West arm was really quite pleasant. And it took Ian no time at all to find the mackerel with the float rod.

Double Shotting 1lb Garfish
Not content with that, he then went on to show further prowess, with a double shot of 1lb + Garfish. There are certainly some cracking Gar's around at the moment.

A pretty Shad, returned.
The guy fishing next to us then swung in a lovely shad, pictured above. I noticed Ian looking at the very lovely fish longingly

Ian and Shad
So, he wasted no time in seeking out his own one...........

More fat Garfish

And a brief lesson on feathers
As the session came to an end, the wind that had been threatening to increase did so. But it didnt matter. Ian had enjoyed a very productive session, and I believe a new sea angler is born.........!! Well done Ian, and I hoped you enjoyed eating fish so fresh it isnt even possible to buy them!!
