Feathering for bait at Sunset

Seaford sunsets. Always a pleasure to be on the beach at this time

A general beach session with Mark and George. Their first sea fishing experience had been with me on the marina a month or so ago, and having enjoyed that, they wanted the hallenge of an open beach session, to hone their casting skills and see the differences in approach. I chose Seaford, confident with the clear seas of some pelagic fun as the sun set, and hopefull of some whiting and pouting action to keep the rods nodding into darkness.

The pelagic's were true to form, plenty of mackerel and horse mackerel storming the beach margins. Feathers or bait didnt matter to the horse mackerel, as George soon discovered!

But with the darkness, the expected whiting glut didnt materialise. Instead, it was up to our prehistoric baby rays to catch a youngsters interest.
