Opportunisitc Rich, and bass
With a day free of comittments, I was very much looking forward to getting back to the marina to have a go on the bass myself. On arrival, the wind had lessened considerably, although still from the North. It looked like there was no reason the fish wouldnt be on the feed, except perhaps the slightly smaller tide. The fishing was noticably slower than the previous day right from the beginning though, with bites not forthcoming. Young Richard pitched up on his bike, and I took the opportunity to pass him my rod, whilst I took a break, rolled a cigarette and drank a cup of tea. Of course, in that brief period Richard managed to hook and land not one, but two bass. Unbelievable!! After initially telling him to s*d off, I weakened and let him use my spare rod, and dip his mitts in my prawn bucket.

Another bass on my rod.
Although the bass werent present in the numbers of the previous day, the other species were more ready to take the prawn as it trotted over their heads.
