River Crouch

The River Crouch is one of the most relaxing midweek venues I know of, unfortunately

Back to the River Crouch for the first time since the end of February last year. This year there have already been some Thornback Ray taken from the River, so it was with some anticipation that I made the drive up from Brighton. However, as is the way with thornback fishing, I hadn't paid enough hours of homage to the gods of Rays, and as such, I blanked. As did the eight other anglers fishing there, which kind of puts shore ray fishing in perspective. Ever so popular to fish for the rays, however the need to spend many many hours of blanking before you catch one soon deter's all but the most stubborn or obsessed!! I fit into the latter category, and cant wait to get back!!
