Ray with new Sundrdge Cross flow suit and whiting.
Took regular clients Mike, Ray and Alex along to Dengemarsh for this session. They wanted cod, and although there are a few odd fish being caught on the beaches at Sussex, I felt the extra mileage would be warranted by the better chances of the whiskered one on Kentish soils. How wrong can I be......???? It was unfortunately, a night that was not graced by the presence of coddies. There were whiting a plenty, and had we fished for them I am sure treble shots would have been the norm. But instead, we persevered, and watched them bounce off the 6/0 pennel rigs. Some inevitabily did get landed, as Ray demonstrated above, all tucked up in his new Sundridge Crossflow floatation suit, which I must admit looks like a superbly engineered piece of kit!!

Mike with Dogfsih for variety
Mike managed this dogfish for a bit of variety, but apart from that, it was quite hard going. A little after high tide, Ray did have two slack line bites in succession, but no connection.

As usual, I am blinding Alex again, taking the picture of his whiting.
Alex was also adding to the whiting tally, but by 05:00, everyone was very tired, and with some serious mileage to be driven still, we said our goodbyes and made the long journey to our respective homes.
