West Sussex beaches

Less weed, more action!

Less weed, more action!!

After the incident with the weed whilst out with Mike and Ray, I arranged to postpone the next client session, which had been planned for the same beach, as I didnt want another client to suffer the same fate. But after a day of settled weather, and with plenty of Essex crinklies in the fridge, I decided to wander down and have a reccy, with one of my many friends called Steve. The action was instant. First cast, the fish above. Second cast, got snapped (20lb mainline) whilst trying to hurry a decent fish in, and third cast hit another fish, which dropped off on the way in (hit it too early!!) And that was all the action for the night, as the weed then increased. Much more fishable, but no more fish. A D-Breakout sheltering an Essex crinklie on a running paternoster, 3/0 Viking and 50lb trace were responsible for the action.
