Eastbourne Beaches - Looking for spikey's

A squall attempts to soak us
BAck out with Steve again, this time up Eastbourne way on the chance of a bass. This time of year is very frustrating with the fishing on the Sussex coastline. Really, we now want calm clear and settled weatehr to bring on the summer fishes. There are just a few bass around already, to keep the interest, but catching them is particularly difficult. With a stiff Westerley wind blowing, Steve and I headed East, to see if the choppy seas might not be harbouring a spikey or two.

East Sussex Codling
It wasnt to e though. Despite fishing the last of the ebb, and a good bit of the flood, the only fish of any note was the tiny codling pictured above. I havent caught one that small for a long time, but I guess it is a very good sign for the future.
