2nd - Bassing Brighton with Keith

Best one of the night...!!

Best one of the night...!!

Out with Keith again, and after a long haul for not a lot of fish the last time, we made the decision to look locally for the spiked one. This time last year we still had reasonable numbers of bass around our shores, possibly as we still had good numbers of mackerel and other baitfish holding them here. Recent stormy weather seems to have reduced numbers overall, although there are the odd half decent bass still being caught. This session was, as well as being a bit short on fish, one of the wettest I have endured all year, as rainy suall after rainy squall kept hitting us. It certainly made me realise how much I need a new floatation suit, as I was soaked to the skin. Not fun in December. We moved on to a second mark for the ebb. and thankfully the rain eased up. But the move was for not much result. It seems the cod are a better bet at the moment, although the best of the fishing is almost two hours to the East!!
