January 2006
Happy new year to everybody!! I have spent most of January in the Czech republic, with only one fishing trip which was in the River Vltava in Prague on New years day. Fishing with borrowed tackle, float fishing little balls of bread paste, my friend Halama was catching what I think were small Nase, like a big bleak, one after another. I only had about five bites, resulting in two 6 oz Roach, and a skimmer bream of similar size. I only fished for about two hours, as it was bitterly cold, with ice in the margins getting bigger, and the snow laying around showing no sign of thawing. No pictures, I am afraid, as I didnt have the camera with me for the fishing trip, but I post a picture of fast food, Czech style....!! Incidently, there were Mackerel caught again from the marina this month, this time BIG ones. Mackerel in January. Do we really need any further proof of global warming.....???
