30th May 2004 - Brighton Marina & Lower Oouse
Weather - Cloudy with sunny spells. Wind light SW a.m. Fresh SW p.m.
Got up at the crack again this morning, and out onto the East at 05:00. Sister and family due down later in the day, so I can fix nephews pc! Fished until 08:00 without a bite. Then moved further inshore to take a 1.5lb ish schoolie first drop (returned) and then miss three bites in succesion. Very frustrating after not getting a bite all morning, but they were probably pollock or pouting. Sister came down with family and met me on the wall. Went off, fixed pc and took nephew (Alex) and friend (James) to the rockpools. Stocked up on prawns and showed them porcleain crabs, hairy spider crabs (tiny little one), Scorpion fish, Five bearded roclkling, Corkwing wrasse, bass, and some transparent small longish fry (more larvae than fry) which I'm putting down to being garfish. Then took the whole family onto the Ouse fishing prawns. Alex lost a fish of some description, probably flounder (they love prawns) and that was Bank holiday Sunday!! Wonderfull sunset coming back from the Ouse.
