29th May 2004 - Brighton Marina
Weather - Cloudy with sunny spells. Wind calm
Finally the May weed seemed to have thined out a little. Went and stocked up the prawn tank. Whilest prawning caught scorpion fish, pollock fry, garfish fry (transparent!), 3 inch bass, loads of corkwing wrasse, five bearded rockling. Then went and fished the long arm for the evenng tide. First shoals of mackerel cruising just under the surface of a very calm sea. Saw a sea trout jump clean out, a good fish probably scraping double figures. As for the float and prawn, I didnt even have aq bite. My friend Perry had a schoolie and a small pollock. Cant wait for soem bigger tides. We are on a rising cycle now so with the may weed dissapearing, we might have some really good fishing next week. Will ttry again at first light to see if that makes any difference!
