Southsea. On board Moonshine skippered by Peter Churchill, acompanied by Nigel Lee and Gary

Southsea - Moonshine stumbled across a large shoal of fish working the Langstone Harbour entrance. We all put down feathers, and found school bass and Mackerel. Kept the mackerel, about one dozen. Then we had some time to spare before the tide eased enough to allow us onto the chosen Tope mark. Off to some Sandbanks just off Selsey bill. On with shrimpers, to try and catch Launce. 2 drifts, just one launce. Blew the hopes of bass, so we headed out to the tope mark. Into fish straight away on the last of the flood,, they then eased off a little. Very little on the new ebb. Nigel dropped down a crab on his sixshooter outfit, and was rewarded with a scraper double smoothhound. Plenty of dogfish, Nigel also had a nice thornback of about 7lbs or so. Total of tope to the boat - twelve. Biggest, a stunning 50lb male by Gary. All in all, a really great day. Good weather, good company, and best of all, great fishing!!
