21st May 2004 - Hove Beach

Weather - Clear skies. Stiff NE wind, calming to nothing after dark. Sea state - as previous night.

Tide - Low water approx 19:00

 

Fished low water until 01:00. Nothing on crab or sandeel until after dark. The, approx 10 pm a flurry of activity - 2 skate, 2 smoothound, 1 bass, 1 flounder and a pouting! Biggest fish - 2lb smoothoound, 1.5lb bass. All returned. Went quiet for the last hour. This time I fished 50 yards to the left of the night of the 18th. I think there are some sandbanks currently off this patch. Found some small sandeel at low tide, possibly the attraction.
